Huggies Little Movers Diaper Review and Sweepstakes

I participated in an Influencer Program on behalf of Mom Central for Huggies. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for participating.
I always encourage moms to make the parenting choices that work for them, and recently I had to take my own advice.   We've cloth diapered William from birth, but were starting to have a real issue with overnights.  He'd wake up wet and unhappy and I'd have an entire load of laundry to do between the sheets, blankets, and pajamas.  I troubleshooted with different inserts and brands of cloth, but ultimately Huggies disposable diapers worked best for us.
Since I'm new to disposables I tried a few different brands, but I was most impressed with Huggies Little Mover diapers.  Given our history with overnight leaks in cloth diapers a good fit is important.  William is tall and skinny, so I really like the SnugFit waistband because it moves and stretches with him as he tosses and turns in his sleep.

William's favorite time of day is bath time, and it kicks off our bedtime routine.  After he gets dried off and lotioned up, I change him into his Huggies Little Movers diaper and then he gets to run around for 20 minutes to get that last bit of energy out.  This is where it gets exciting!

The perfect fit that Huggies is known for just got even better.  I was able to test out the new Double Grip Strips feature that will soon be available in your local Target - and it's amazing!
For moms familiar with cloth diapers, this feature is
similar to a hip snap in that it helps maintain the fit.

These extra purple Velcro strips on the sides of the diaper are the new Double Grip Strips and they really help keep everything in place when the baby is busy running around.

I'm proud to cloth diaper so you know a disposable diaper is good when I'm recommending it.  Those of you that watch my Week In The Life vlogs know that Hannah loves shopping at Target, and I was excited to see that my Target offered a $10 gift card when I bought two packs of Huggies, so I stocked up - But with this sweepstakes you'll really be able to stock up:

Flip Hybrid Cloth Diaper System Review

Today's review is of the BumGenius
FLIP hybrid one size cloth diaper system.

I think the Flip is a great option for budget conscious moms.

Since you can get away with just a couple shells if you
purchase lots of inserts, the cost is reasonable.

PLUS there is still a disposable option for travelling,
an organic option for Green minded moms,
and a stay dry option for those concerned with a trim fit
and, well, an insert that will feel dry against the baby's skin.

It is a one size diaper with a 3x3 snap rise.

I have purchased multiple shells in various colors - all in snaps.

Below you can see how trim it fits Hannah.

The diaper is a mid-to-low rise diaper,
which makes it easy to sit up or run around in.

Cloth Diaper Week: SoftBums OMNI Review

Today's review is of the SoftBums OMNI one size cloth diaper.

I think the OMNI is a great Overnight option for toddlers.
Using the Super pod, it is easily the
most absorbent diaper in my stash.

But there are multiple insert options for this diaper,
so if you have a new baby consider their mini pods
available in organic bamboo or dry touch.

For an older baby, the dry touch or organic bamboo pods
would fit well.  And as mentioned above, for overnight
or heavy wetters, the Super pod is amazing.

SoftBums sent me the OMNI in velcro to review.
I'm normally not a fan of velcro/aplix diapers.
While they were great for 3am changes when Hannah was a newborn,
they're just not as... 'sticky' nowadays.
HOWEVER, the velcro on SoftBums diapers is fabulous,
and the laundry tabs actually stay affixed in the wash.
This diaper is an example of velcro diapers done right.

Even at 30 pounds, you can see how much room Hannah still has in
the waist.  This diaper will easily fit your baby through potty training.
You can also overlap the tabs to fit a tiny baby.

This is a side profile of the OMNI with a Super pod.
Even though it is the most absorbent pod they offer,
you can see that it is not bulky, and still lays smooth.

You can use the OMNI as a diaper cover and lay prefolds inside,
stuff it with a pod, or snap in a pod.  It is a highly customizable
diaper that will grow with your child.

And I haven't even told you about the technology that makes it One Size!
Slide2Size is ingenious, and I demonstrate how it works in the video review.

Although it runs a few dollars more than other brand name diapers,
this near leak proof overnight diaper is well worth it.

Cloth Diaper Week: BumGenius FreeTime Review

Today's review is of the BumGenius FreeTime one size cloth diaper.

I think the FreeTime is a great option for busy moms -
especially those with more than one in diapers.

Since the insert is quickly customizable in size and absorption,
it could easily fit a newborn & toddler just by snapping the 3x3 rise.

It could also quickly transition from the girl to a boy,
by changing where you have your added adsorption - front or back.

The FreeTime diaper I purchased was the Lovelace in snaps.

Below you can see how trim it fits Hannah.

At 30 lbs she's approaching the 35+lb rating,
but the stretchy tabs make for a comfortable fit.

The diaper is a mid-to-low rise diaper,
which makes it easy to sit up or run around in.

My only complaint is that these came out after I built my stash.
They are such a time saver and fit my daughter well.
If I need to add more 'boy' colors to my stash for baby #2,
I'll be adding more FreeTime diapers.

GroVia AIO Cloth Diaper Review

Today's review is of the GroVia All In One (AIO) one size cloth diaper.

I think the GroVia AIO is a great daytime option for busy babies.
Its narrow and trim fit allows for a full range of motion
without bunching, and looks smooth under clothing.

The side panels are stretchy and allow for a great fit.
The snaps are high quality yet different than the
snaps you find on other cloth diapers.

The GroVia AIO does not give your child that
'fluffy butt' that can make you go up in pant sizes.
It is trim and smooth - even with the double attached.

The GroVia retails for $22.95
and will be introducing 4 new patterns this spring:

Clockwise from top left:
Peacocks, Robots, Bicycles, Woodlands

Happy Half Birthday, Hannah!

I figured that the best way to celebrate
Hannah turning 1.5 years old
would be to have a little giveaway.

Since every online retailer is currently sold out of the Albert print from BumGenius,
and I just happen to have a brand new Albert FreeTime Diaper,
I thought I'd save someone from waiting on a backorder list,
and just send it to them directly - for free.

Features:
  • 3×3 snap down design* adjusts the sizing to fit small, medium and large sizes (approximately 8-35+ pounds).
  • Trim, snug and comfortable stretchy tabs* provide a custom fit.
  • One step cloth diaper - no stuffing!
  • Two rows of snaps ensure a trim, bumGenius fit every time!
  • Gentle leg elastic contains the mess!
  • Semi-attached inserts dry faster and allow for customized absorbency where your child needs it most.
  • Cloth diapering has never been so easy!

bumGenius Freetime All-In-One One-Size Cloth Diapers feature our patent pending butterfly closure system to provide a comfortable, trim fit. This simple design makes cloth diapering as easy as using disposables. The "no-stuff" system with semi-attached inserts is an ideal solution for families with a child in day-care or family members resistant to cloth diapers! Using the snaps on the front of the diaper, adjust the size if needed, put the diaper on your baby, wash, dry and re-use. No extra steps. No stuffing. No cover required. One-size diapers are designed to fit most babies weighing between 8 and 35 pounds.

Only the Best for Your Baby
The soft, waterproof outer fabric keeps the diaper trim on your newborn and toddler. Soft, sueded inner fabric gently wicks moisture away from your baby's skin. Super stretchy, gentle leg and back elastic with rolled out casings keeps the yuk in and help to keep red marks away.

Care Instructions
  • Fasten hook tabs to laundry tabs on slot cover.
  • Pre-wash cold. Wash hot (100F/40C) with bumGenius detergent.
  • Extra rinse. Line Dry.
  • No laundry additives. No fabric softeners.
  • Use 1/4 cup or 60 mL bleach in the hot wash once per month.

Cloth Diaper Haul

I attended the Cotton Babies store 1 year anniversary on Saturday and bought a few items to support them.  I love having a local store where I can TOUCH the product and COMPARE the diapers.  I'm very lucky to have a Cotton Babies store near me and I hope they branch out to your neck of the woods soon.

My one disappointment of the day is that apparently Cotton Babies owner Jennifer Labit was at the store that day and I missed her.  So bummed.  I think she's an amazing businesswoman and I'm amazed at the role she's had in reinventing the cloth diaper industry.

GroVia All In One Cloth Diapers

I'm lucky enough to work near one of the two Cottonbabies stores and love to go in and look at the new designs and patterns.
Today I stumbled across the GroVia all in one cloth diaper.

I was familiar with GroVia's hybrid system:

Hybrid in Snap - OR - Hybrid in Hook & Loop

but I had no idea that they had released this new all in one style:

One Size

Newborn

Since Hannah is WAY out of the newborn size, lets talk about the one size option:

  • It features soft organic cotton, and the side tabs are super stretchy for a comfortable fit.
  • The first difference you notice is the adjustable side snap feature as compared to the more mainstream snap placement that we see in the Newborn option:
Side Snapped One Size - VS - Front Snapped Newborn

  • Even though the side snap design means that the diaper tabs are touching the baby, they are lined with soft cotton and there is no PUL or snaps touching your baby.
  • The one size adjustment comes from a snap down rise that we're familiar with.
  • The soaker is sewn in  (NO STUFFING!!) and is extra long so that you can adjust for extra absorbency where you need it.  There is a snap in booster (doubler) that snaps on the underside of the soaker so, again, no snaps are touching your baby.

I love the idea of a long soaker that is sewn or snapped in on one side.  I've noticed a few brands embracing this idea (similar brands: SoftBums or BumGenius' new FreeTime).  We must have finally complained enough about how annoying stuffing your diapers can be.

If you dislike the look of multiple snaps on your baby's cloth diapers, a side snap design like GroVia's All in One cloth might be a more visually pleasing option for you.

It currently comes in nine great colors/patterns:

Cosmos - Ice

Mod Flower - Nature

Owls - Planes

Surf - Vanilla
and Cloud

For more information, please check out GroVia's website:
