26 Weeks!

She's breathing in her amniotic fluid and her eyes are fully formed and will start opening in a few weeks (they've been sealed shut while her retinas formed).

•How far along?•
26 weeks

•Total weight gain/loss•
No clue, but I think I'm probably getting closer and closer to the prepregnancy mark, which is fine considering how flippin' hungry I've been lately.

•Maternity clothes?•
I wore a prepregnancy shirt over a maternity tank top a couple days ago. I don't think I'll be able to get away with that again.

•Sleep•
I want more. I was going to take a nap at lunch today, but when I was ravenous by 10:30, I knew I was in trouble. Good thing it was 2/$1 Taco Thursday at the deli by the office. Bless them. Those ladies make hundreds of tacos each Thursday, yet they know my name and order by heart.

•Best moment this week•
Yesterday was a good day. Not only did it mark 99 days till my due date (We're in double digits here people!), but Chris and I finished the closet. I need to take pictures of it, but I was just so damn impressed, all I could do was stand back and stare. Cutest little clothes ever. We've hung up the NB and 0-3 clothes and the 3-6 and so on are waiting in standby mode in their own organized tubs (Which Chris hopefully returned to the garage). I'll post pictures this weekend.

•Movement•
She's been quiet this afternoon, but I'm thinking she's just in a taco coma. I wish I was too. Her kicks are visible from the outside and she responds when the dogs bark and when I listen to tracks #4, #6 and #11 of the Glee soundtrack - volume 1. But that's just because I belt them out every day on the drive home.

•Food cravings•
We went to the Dollar store the other night to look that these LL Bean knock off totes they advertised - awful. And I bought 2 boxes of what looked like otter pop-type popsicles but were really Italian Ices. O>M>G. Shut the front door. I want one right now.
I also still want a big glass of milk. And maybe a couple oreos.

•Gender•
Judging by the number of pink onesies, I hope she's still a girl.

•Labor Signs•
No. Ew. stop asking me that.

•Belly Button in or out?•
Shallower by the day.

•What I miss•
Being able to slip between cars in the parking lot. Seriously. Wide load. This is aggravated by the fact that the men at work that park in the (assigned) spots on either side of me hug the lines and I'm really trying not to hit their car, but my door needs to open a little more than it used to.

•What I am looking forward to•
Cleaning out the rest of the storage from the nursery and getting to work on the walls. It's gonna be a giant PITA, but it's gonna look awesome when we're done. Hopefully.

•Weekly Wisdom•
Sometimes the only way to get Chris to finish a project is to cry about it.
In other news, the baby chicks now have a very nice OUTDOOR coop. :)

•Milestones•
Less than 100 days till my due date and like, 10 days till the 3rd trimester (depending on who you ask). Oh, and the birthday countdown is on. :)

We also registered for our childbirth class through the hospital. It starts June 15th and goes through July 27th. The only later option was a class that ended on September 2nd. I didn't think that would really work for us...

25 Weeks!

If you could look in on her right now, you would be able to tell what color hair she was going to have (not saying much considering I had DARK hair as a newborn), and her hands are very busy exploring everything she can. Including punching me. or kicking me. I'm not sure which, but it's fairly nonstop. :)

•How far along?•
25 weeks

•Total weight gain/loss•
I think I've gained back 7 pounds, so I'm now down 2 from prepregnancy. Plus or minus a few sushi rolls. (I gave in from last weeks craving, but didn't eat any raw rolls).

•Maternity clothes?•
Should I be scared that some of my maternity shirts no longer cover the bottom 2 inches of my bump when smoothed over? (They're okay when allowed to just hang.) I knew having a long torso was going to cause this problem sooner or later. I just thought it would be later. :)

•Sleep•
I'm so freakin' tired. Sometimes I'll be driving to work and I'll try to figure out how I can manage to take a nap at some point during the work day. I need more sleep and usually sleep for 11 hours at a stretch on the weekends. Something tells me I should enjoy that freedom now...

•Best moment this week•
We went to the BIG consignment event last night. (It's the one I bought Kylie's 6-9 month clothing haul at last fall). Chris and I did some serious damage :) However, even though I've been stalking the sale's website since January, mommy brain aparently caused me to forget to register as a first time parent so I didn't get a presale pass emailed to me earlier this week. So I called up the event coordinator and will now be working at the sale from 1-5 on Sunday to earn my presale pass. Somedays I'm amazed I can still function this pregnancy brain is getting so bad.

•Movement•
She's kicking right now. And she has the hiccups. She's had them all day. :) It's cute. But like my facebook status says - With hiccups, kicks and punches like these, I feel like I go through my day with a belligerent drunk in my belly. :)

•Food cravings•
Milk. Ice cream. Dairy.

I've noticed that the moment I feel myself getting hungry, I immediately start feeling the beginning of heart burn. Each night with dinner I have a huge glass of milk. I have to. It's out of control. Luckily I've only had one day thus far with full blown heart burn and, yes, I'm knocking on wood right now.

•Gender•
Team Pink.
Even if she turns out to be a boy, he'll still be dressed like a girl because this wardrobe is shaping up nicely. *wink*

•Labor Signs•
No. Ew. stop asking me that.

•Belly Button in or out?•
Shallower by the day.

•What I miss•
Being smart.

Seriously. I'm verging on retarded most days. Take the other morning for instance - instead of driving to my office in Vancouver, I drove to Christopher's store in Portland. I was literally turning on my turn signal to enter the parking lot at 6:30am when I asked myself "WTH are you doing?"

I was commenting on Katie's status message and kept asking myself 'Do you spell tweak Q-U-E-E-K or Q-U-E-A-K?'
Neither.
It's T-W-E-A-K you moron.

•What I am looking forward to•
Finishing the nursery closet. It's completely emptied, the boards where the previous hanging rods were affixed have been removed and all the holes have been filled and sanded. I have a pint of eggshell white pain (NO MORE LIGHT YELLOW!) and so I just need to put on my paintin' shirt (which probably doesn't fit, so no one come over to watch the process because I'll probably get stuck doing it in a sports bra) and painting the interior. It's on the TO DO list for Saturday.

•Weekly Wisdom•
Chris needs a Honeydo List. That boy gets nothing done without a TO DO list.
As evident by his accomplishments during his weekend. Which are few. I think he pushed the GO button on the washer and roasted a chicken (no, not one of the baby chickens... which are getting SO big!).

•Milestones•
105 days to go! and Visible kicks from the outside. Chris can barely feel them, but if you look, you can see them!

24 Weeks!

24 weeks has been the milestone I've been focusing on since hitting the 2nd trimester because it marks Viability (50% chance of survival). From here on out, I'm just imagining her baking - she's all ready to go, she just needs to get bigger and stronger. Woot!

•How far along?•
24 weeks

•Total weight gain/loss•
No clue. My weight fluxuates like plus or minus 5 pounds on any given day. It's crazy.

•Maternity clothes?•
I love them, but I'm getting annoyed with having to yank up my pants everytime I stand. I knew I should have gotten a smaller size.

•Sleep•
Sleeping on my side sucks. Sometimes I wake up and I'm practically sleeping on my back because my hips and shoulder are SO tired of being laid on.

•Best moment this week•
I woke up in a bad mood the other day (You would too if your alarm went off at 5am.) but that quickly changed when I was laying there trying to figure out if I could afford to hit the snooze button when she got the hiccups and was practically bounding my belly off the mattress. SO funny.

•Movement•
She's been kicking like CRAZY lately, but Chris hasn't felt her since that night in Butte a few weeks ago. Everytime she's kicking at night, I grab his hand and position it where she's kicking. The next ten minutes are spent like this:
wait... wait... wait.
(Me) Did you feel that?
(Chris) Nope.
Wait... wait... wait...
REPEAT.

Annoying.

•Food cravings•
I'm not craving anything. I just want food.

•Gender•
Team Pink.

•Labor Signs•
No.

•Belly Button in or out?•
Shallower by the day.

•What I miss•
Sushi. I really miss sushi. Granted, I could eat most of the rolls they serve at our favorite restaurant, but Chris recently discovered the fresh fish counter at the grocery store and I've been eating my fair share of fish, so I think going out for sushi would be pushing it.

•What I am looking forward to•
Having a finished nursery. This week, the vision came together and I know what I want to do, we just need to get busy putting everything together.

•Weekly Wisdom•
We bought baby chickens last weekend. I'm slowly starting to realize that Chris REALLY wants to be a farmer, but has none of the basic training. He made an outdoor chicken run for them and then took the baby chicks out from under the heat lamp to let them play. Silly Boy. He also asked when we could start collecting eggs. He needs to be patient. :)

•Milestones•
Viability! woot.

23 Weeks!

•How far along?•
23 weeks

•Total weight gain/loss•
Down 5 lbs. Gain back 4ish

•Maternity clothes?•
I don't even remember what 'normal' clothes feel like.

•Sleep•
I could use more.

•Best moment this week•
The Ultrasound! Seeing her in 3D was A-MAZE-ING!

•Movement•
She kicks multiple times a day, and if I poke her where she just kicked, she'll kick again...
Either she thinks it's a game
or she's silently yelling "don't TOUCH me!"
...
or she's just reacting to the stimulous.

•Food cravings•
Still love Jonagold apples, But I'm eating every 2 hours on the hour. STARVING!
And, as of 9:35am, I'm craving McDonald's Cheeseburgers again as if it's week 8 again.

•Gender•
Girl! Now confirmed by 3 doctors :)

•Labor Signs•
No.

•Belly Button in or out?•
Shallower by the day.

•What I miss•
My patience. I have no patience for anyone at work anymore. I'm crabby. But I think it's just because my butt is so sore at the end of the work day. I'm currently bouncing on an under inflated exercise ball at my desk. It's really under inflated... like, my knees are at boob level. I've gotta find that pump STAT!

•What I am looking forward to•
It's supposed to be a sunshiney weekend, so I'll be cleaning up the nursery and getting it ready for some major construction. Okay, not major, but more than just paint.

•Weekly Wisdom•
My doctor was telling me about kick counts and Chris later asked "Do you really feel her 10 times in 2 hours?" He seriously has no idea how much I'm getting beat up from the inside out...

•Milestones•
Chris and I bought everything to set up her closet! I can't wait to hang tiny clothing up once we're done!!

HOUSE OF LIES

Okay, so I hadn't updated the blog in a month (I've since gone back and added a bunch of posts). One reason is that I'm trying to be a better employee/wife and not spend so much time on the computer. But the MAIN reason is that I'm a big ol' liar.

You see, the story starts a while back when Jessica sent out the date of Kylie's baptism in Wall, SD. (For those that haven't memorized Christopher's family tree, Jessica is Christopher's little sister who is married to Mike, and Kylie is their daughter who will turn 1 a week before our baby's due date!)

Kylie - 8 months

Chris and I decided that we'd make the 21 hr+ one way drive and attend the Baptism, seeing as Chris loves roadtrips and I would only be 21.5 weeks along. However, we decided it would be MORE fun to surprise everyone. Quickly 'everyone' became Christopher's parents Mark & Brenda.

While we were laughing to ourselves about how FUNNY this would be, we decided to ALSO surprise them with the baby's gender which we would be finding out on April 12th, just 2 weeks before the baptism.

The elaborate lie would have been much easier to keep, but Chris is the WORST LIAR EVER and kept changing the story and slipping up about returning from vacation and such. It took a lot of participation from everyone and a LOT of lying by me (including calling Brenda from the Billings, Montana Best Western to update her on the fake ultrasound we had that day - our alibi for not attending). But we finally made it to Wall, SD and snuck in the back door to surprise a room full of people. After tears and a few slaps, I think they were even happy to see us.

So, in a nutshell, that's why I've been a little quiet on here.
Make sure you go back to April's posts so that you don't miss out on anything!
